It was high time I was sharing a recipe with apples since I hadn’t prepare any this autumn. I love to bake apples, especially during this period of the year but I have been so busy lately creating recipes for food brands. So today I am updating the blog with this pecan apple crumble I prepared a few days ago. It was the first time I did this recipe and let me tell you it’s delicious. Actually, it didn’t last too long!
As you may know I am a big fan of crumbles, in my opinion it’s such an easy and quick dessert to prepare that I usually prepare this peach crumble in summer or this strawberry crumble with Marie biscuits all year.
So as a big fan of fall season I had the idea to mix two types of apples, red and green, to create this crumble and add some pecans on top for a crunchy touch.
INGREDIENTS
Filling
3 red apples
3 green apples
50 gr (¼ cup) coconut sugar
3 tsp cinnamon
Half of a lemon juice
Topping
180 gr (1 cup) all-purpose flour
150 gr (8 tbsp) unsalted butter
40 gr (½ cup) pecans
30 gr (⅛ cup) coconut sugar
METHOD
Peel the apple, cut them in pieces, transfer them to a bowl, add the squeezed lemon, cinnamon, and sugar. Mix well and allow to rest for at least 30 min.
Meanwhile in another bowl combine butter and flour. Add sugar and pecans in pieces. Transfer the apple mix to a mould and then add the topping. Bake at 150ºC (300ºF) for about 20 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream and… buon appetito!
You can substitute
-Coconut sugar: brown sugar or raw cane sugar
-Flour: the one you prefer, I chose whole wheat flour
